Alameda County Health Emergency Lifted, County Eviction Moratorium to End in 60 Days

On February 28, 2022, the Alameda County Health Emergency will be lifted. The Alameda County Health Emergency, declared on March 16, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, had been extended several times as the pandemic raged on. The Alameda County eviction moratorium announced on August 27, 2020, is also set to end in 60 days.

Although the Alameda County eviction moratorium is slated to end in 60 days, Landlords should be aware of eviction moratoria that currently exist or have been expanded in various cities such as Oakland, San Leandro, and Berkeley.
